Dpf cleaning

The risk particle filter clog light just came on as a warning. I have tried taking it out for a long drive to see if that would rectify the issue. I am wondering if there is anything else I could try before taking to the garage for a full clean. Would an additive like Redx diesel clean help this issue or is it best to just take it in for a dpf clean?

Take it for a cleaning, then don't let the car idle for any length of time or lug the engine, you want to keep the engine at a higher rpm to minimize the build up of soot in the filter. Removing it does nothing other than cause other problems.
