Door lock is stuck in partially shut

Was replacing door actuator on front passenger door. Apparently locking mechanism got pushed into locked position without me noticing. Now door will neither open or close tightly. Inside panel is off but can't access lock to release door as door will not open. Need suggestions.

Have you got the interior door handle connected?

The cable for the interior door handle should unlock/open the door.

Worth a try first.
