Won't latch. How can I fix this myself?

More than likely the latch was flipped at some point, and you can use a screwdriver to flip it back. Here is a guide that will help with this:

However, the easiest way to solve this if this is the case is to just operate the interior door handle. If you open the door using the inside handle, then that will flip the latch back to the open position.

If none of this works, then we need to remove the door panel.

The latch is in the open position. And will not close. This is the answer for the closed position. Unhelpful.

Yep, sorry about that. When the latch is stuck open the latch is bad and needs to be replaced. I have included the instructions on how to do so in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
