I bought this car with both driver and rear driver doors only open from inside. Fixed the front one after i removed the panel, but the bolt holding the outside handle was loose and not retracting back. Same for rear but anytime i put the panel back on rear same happens and neither opens from inside or outside. If i remove the panel and pull the cable by hand it will open. Not seeing anything broken.

Hi,

When you install the panel and it fails to work, does anything come disconnected? Do you feel tension on the handle?

Also, I noted that when you were manually releasing it in the video, you were pulling on the outside cover of the cable. If you pull only the cable and hold the cover (plastic covering over the cable) will the door open?

Let me know.

Nothing gets disconnected when panel is on, tried it 4 times at least. Once i installed it i tried the door from inside and out and it was all good. Then i come back hours later and it's the same thing. And yes, there is good tension on the cable. But not sure if the handle inside is weak and not pulling enough on it when all is connected.

Panel back, same thing. If it is the cable that is stretched why doesn't it at least open from outside.

Since won't open from inside or outside no way both cables stretched as its 2 separate cables. Wouldn't you say it has to do with the latch on the door?

Finally fixed. Turned out the cable does not have the slack it's supposed to have. Saw a guy in a video doing it. I would have thought you need less slack, but turned out the other end of the cable cane out of its housing so it just needed to go in and it created a slack like in this picture.

Hi,

Thank you for the update. I'm glad to hear you resolved the issue. I would have thought the same as you.

Regardless, take care and feel free to come back anytime in the future.
