latch will not pull rod up to open door

Have replaced door latch on driver's side front but latch will not pull rod up to open door even though rod is inserted into holder. What can be wrong?

Hi,

Is the linkage attached on both ends between the door handle and latch assembly? Also, take a look at the attached pic and let me know if that is the part you replaced.

One last question, did you install the linkage at the correct locations on the latch assembly?
