When I go to start my car in the morning it hesitate. When driving it on the highway it does not want to accelerate. What could be wrong?

Several things can be the cause. Things such as a partially plugged catalytic converter, weak fuel pump, partially plugged fuel filter, and so on.
Has the check engine light come on while the engine is running? If it has, then you should have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it for free.
When you try to accelerate on the highway, do you feel anything different such as a misfire, hear any strange sounds, or anything you can think of?
