The dome light inside my car does not light when I open any door. I noticed that the light comes on when I move the switch between each of my 3 choices. For example when I move the switch between off and door or between door and on, the light comes on. Does this mean the switch is bad and I should replace the entire dome light assembly unit or could there be something else going on?

Thanks,

That sounds like a bad switch in the light. The reason I say that is the light does light up. That means it is getting both the power through the lighting control and ground. Now a big question, do the other interior lights come on when the doors open? If they are but the dome isn't that would indicate it is that lamp/switch because they use the same control circuits.
