I can start the truck it will run for about 10 seconds and then die. I’ve replaced the IAC, throttle position sensor, ignition coil, new water pump, and heater hose, and new cap and rotor and plugs and it’s still won’t stay running.

Do you have a check engine light on, also if you keep your foot on the throttle a little bit will it keep running? I have seen the EGR valve stick open and cause an internal vacuum leak which will make the engine stall, here is a guide as well and a video to help you test the EBR valve.

Here is the EGR valve location. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

I can keep it between two and 3000 RPM and then it shoots down and comes back up if I let go it’ll idle for about five seconds and then it’ll die. The engine light will flash on and off.

It also overheated a few times, maybe three prior to the water pump being changed, so could it possibly have damaged the sensor on the distributor?
