Got the truck and had to change the ignition starter switch and the ignition lock cylinder. Turn the key and the dash lights all come on but engine does nothing. I can turn the key to the run position and go under the hood and unhook the wire from the fuse box there Angus jumps wire from it the the positive post of the battery and it will start. Why won't it start regularly turning the key?

Hello.

Yes, a new set of keys and ignition switch need to be reprogrammed to the vehicles ECM.
The security indicator light should be flashing or constantly on when trying to start the vehicle once reprogrammed the light will go out and the car will start. Most good auto locksmiths will be able to reprogram for you.

Hope this helps with your repair. Please keep us updated on your repair outcome and do not hesitate to contact us again for further information or assistance.
