Since I bought the van about six months ago it has refused to start (fourth time now). when this happens it is completely out (not working), no lights no click from the ignition switch. nothing. It's as if the battery is out of the truck. However, there is a new battery in it, also i tested it with a voltmeter and it's reading 12.4 volts. so no parasitic draw.
To get it started there is no rime or reason to it. First time I just kept trying it and it fired up. Second time I put a jump starter on it and it started after a few attempts. Third time tried to jump it but after many attempts it finally started. i checked the battery each time with a voltmeter and it was okay. I put the battery charger on it so I wouldn't pull the battery down with all of the starting attempts. I'm not sure but I'm wondering if this problem could possibly be associated the stock security system?
