My 2000 ram van b 2500 is stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear
when its cold it will shift nomally for a short period of time. What could be the possible cause of this problem your help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike: It could be many things. Chances are, however, it has something to do with the shift solenoids. They are located on the valve body in the transmission and are replaceable.

I WOULD START WITH THE INPUT SPEED SENSOR OR OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR BE FOR THE SOLENOIDS. I WORK FOR CHRYSLER AND I THINK THIS WOULD BE YOUR PROBLEM NOT THE SOLENOIDS. I NEVER HAD TO REPLACE THE SOLENOIDS AT ALL, MORE THE INPUT OR OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR, NEED COMPUTER TO FINED OUT WHICH ONE, SOUND MORE LIKE THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR BEING THE ONE CAUSING THE PROBLEM, TRUST ME. THE GUYS THAT WORK IN THE DEALERSHIP LIKE ME, FOR CHRYSLER AND GM ARE GOING TO KNOW MORE THEN PEOPLE WHO DONT, WE SEE THE STUFF EVERY DAY. IM NOT TAKING ANYTHING AWAY FROM NOBODY, ITS THE TRUTH, HAVE FUN, I THINK ON THAT TRANNY THERE IS ONLY ONE OF THE SENSOR.
