1993 Dodge Van 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
We were traveling down the interstate at apprx 65 MPH when our van just died. We tried restarting and it would just turn over but not start. We have had the van towed home and have now tried some solutions but nothing is working. At the time the van stopped we had just put apprx 15 gallons of gas in a near empty tank. About 3 weeks after this happened we filled our pickup at the same station and had similiar problems but were able to drive home. (We put Heat in the tank and that seemed to clear things up).
We have now replaced the crank sensor (tested bad) and replaced the coil (tested weak). We are now getting spark but still is not starting.
Before we replace the fuel pump we want to make sure that we have tried all options. My husband found what looks like a fuel filter on the right side frame of the van. Could this possibly be a problem? Or, what else can we try?
We are retired and living on Social Security so money is very important to us and anything we could try prior to replacing the fuel pump would help.
