1991 Dodge Van Slipping

Transmission is slipping, fluid is dark almost black, I think I have lost the low gear, when I put in L dont get anywhere. Speedometer cable is now not working. doesn't shift into high gear on road. Can not drive over about 40. Sounds like I have major problem? thanks

Yes you do black fluid indicates burnt clutches an overhaul or replacement is needed.
