What is it doing wrong? If it runs out of fluid, the transmission will simply stop pulling. Running the vehicle for any length of time without fluid can burn the pump up. It can also do some internal damage in the transmission. If you were just driving and it stopped pulling, chances are, it was slipping some before you noticed it. That's when the damage can be done. When it slips, the temperature at the clutches will go sky high. This cooks the friction material on the discs. You can put fluid back in the transmission and all the pressures can be OK again but if the material is 'cooked' on the discs, it's real hard for them to 'stick' together and pull without slipping. You may not notice it or, then again, you may. This may be what's happening when you say, "you can tell something's wrong". I would take it to a transmission shop and get a second oppinion. Transmission shops specialize in transmission problems. Dealerships usually do not, however they may do major transmission repairs. I would still take it to one and get that second oppinion. If they detect a problem, get it in writing detailing the problems they found and return to the dealership with that printout. If it's damaged, they should be responsible for the repairs if, in fact, they caused it to start with. Good luck!
