2005 Dodge Truck key switch

I can put the key in the switch and it will not turn>I called the dealer and this does not have a chip in it.I have a new switch and key but I can't turn it far enuff to unlock the little drop down lock

Spray w-d 40/ in the lock hole, insert the key and tap on it lightly with a hammer, turn the wheel lightly while you’re trying the key.
Make also sure the car is in park or neutral. If not, the key won’t turn.
When you get it started, change the cylinder to avoid future problems
