2004 Dodge Truck 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i just bought truck has been sitting in pasture couple of years it will run fine for about 300 miles and than quit put new filter in it will run again happened couple times now wont run at all think maybe fuel pump or puter problem not sure

First off have you checked for spark on every cylinder. Should be bright, blue and have a nice pattern to the sparking on all cylinders. Also have you checked the fuel pressure with key on engien off and engien cranking?

That helps alot. Have you checked the fuel pressure to make sure it doesnt have air or the diesel that was in it hasnt pluuged up and contaminated the system?

No havent the gentleman I bought it from started it once a month. But it did stick in reverse he got out of the truck it wasnt quite in park went back knock hjm over thru pasture and hit a tree with drivers door. Tore door off and hit fence and stopped. Has been sittibg in same place since no door just tarp over door could moist get in computer that way.I seem to think it is a puter problem why dont know

Yeah moisture couldve gotten in and messed with the electrical parts. But remember friends that it has driven quite a few miles you said without a problem.

Aint like you got it a mile and it killed out

So u think its preeure or contamation. Where is fuel pump located it tank or externally
