If you think it is a fuel issue, check fuel pressure. One of the gages from a discount store is better than nothing. Some of the stores will let you borrow a gage, you may have to put up a deposit, you will get it back.
How long since a tune-up? Plugs--plug wires--filters-- cap and rotor where applicable. These are all maintenance items. If you replace the fuel filter, just make sure there is no pressure on the system before you take any lines loose.
You might check for codes, some of the national brand stores will check codes for free.
