Heater problem
2001 Dodge Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

If the odor of antifreeze starts in the heat selection, yet, with the A/C, the odor is gone. There is no antifreeze leaking in to the cab. does this mean the Core is kaput! Getting to the unit is a real hassle, using a shop, costs a fortune. Help!

The hint of antifreeze is good indicator of impending doom. But maybe able to by you some time if not fix for good. Go to a parts store ask for Alumniseal small tube fine metal. Follow instructions works rela good on low pressure leaks. I've used for over 40yrs and put it in every vehicle I own.
