I was changing my rear wheel speed sensor and a 1/2 " square piece of plastic broke off and fell into the differential. Will this damage anything or should I drain differential fluid and remove plastic?

I wouldn't panic. It might get chopped up by the gears, but it won't put up much of a fight. Eventually it will settle down in all the other crud in the bottom of the housing.
