It looked like my radiator has a brownish sludge in it, level drops, but my thermostate houseing has signs of leakage, this is being replaced. What would cause the browish sludge? Head gasket is what I suspect.I have installed a high ignition coil and live wire spark plugs, could this cause engine problems?

No, the ignition wont do that. Most likely is the Dexcool that was used from the factory doing its thing. Does the radiator have an oil cooler built into it? If leaking internally it can cause sludge. The trans cooler is built in as well, is it losing trans fluid? If not to both of those. Have the cooling system chemical tested for exhaust gasses (head gasket, just to be safe) if ok then have it flushed and refilled with fresh coolant
