My truck dies and all gauges drop to 0 when the heat under the hood reaches a certain temperature. Open the hood and wait about 10 minutes, turning the key on and off every 5 minutes until the gauges start operating again. Then it will re start and run fine for a while. If I run the Air conditioner, it dies much quicker. It ran fine as long as the weather was below 70. Now as summer is upon us, it dies after about 10 miles or more.

Is the engine computer shorting out? I have a an OBD II reader, but it shows that nothing is wrong.

Thanks,
Carnie smith

Have the alt and battery tested to be sure they are up to par.Running the a/c puts a bigger load on the charging system
