Can I put a 1998 V8 2500 engine into a 1996 V8 1500 Truck?

Are they the same size engine? Also, keep in mind, all sensors will need changed and it's a lot of work. Final comment, things change from year to year so make sure the everything has remained the same as far as sensor locations, brackets...
