Engine Mechanical problem
1997 Dodge Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My 318 will not idle and when you give it gas it runs but missing bad. The truck sat up for about 1 year but ran fine before that. It acts like there some plug wires crossed but i traced all of them and they are right. Could the gas be bad even know we put c foam in it and cause it to miss that bad? I was think mabey the rotor button or the distributer cap but i am not sure. Can u give a direction to go in and something to start with?

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
