1996 Dodge Truck alternator not charging

I had alternator tested and it passed. Has battery voltage at alt. The 2 little terminals at back of alt have battery voltage. Was told voltage reg was bad but is in computer. Can I install a external regulator?

the regulator is internal on the alternator. Have your battery checked after it is charged. If it's no good the alternator won't charge.
