My 1992 Dodge Dakota will idle when in park just fine and seems to accelerate a little slow unless you kick it all the way down but when I am at a stop light once in a while the engine will sputter out. I have been told that it probably needs an EGR Valve and maybe plugs and wires although the plug wires look fairly new! What would you recomend?

I would start by checking for vacuum leaks. On the passanger side of the engine compartment rear, there are many hoses that operate the 4wd. I have seen them melt over the year causing leaks and rough idles. Also, check all hoses.

Let me know what you find.
