Went out one morning and the truck started right up. Went in for a few minutes to let it warm up and when I went back out, truck had stalled. Fan for defrost was still running. Tried to restart--engine tries but doesn't start. Replaced the coil, distributer cap, rotor. Still no start. Pulled one plug to see if I was getting spark, tried to start, motor started and had spark. Put plug back in, tried to start, didn't start. Pulled plug out again to check for spark, no spark.

What could the problem be and what should I check next?

I have an 89 caravan, 2.5L 4 cyl. I had a spark problem. The car would be fine, then stall. it was compleatly unpredictable. The timing was ok, cap, plugs, fuel, etc were all ok. To make a long story short, I fixed it by replacing the "hall effect pick up assy" ( i think that is what it is called), in the distributor. This could be worth a check, good luck.

I had the same problem with a 1984 360 engine. After replacing every electronic component on the truck it turned out to be the gap setting in the distributor. Although there are no points the gap must still be set and it is very touchy. Check your settings and be sure that you are dead on. Give this a shot and see if it works
