1987 Dodge Truck air condition question

The a/c unit in my 1987 dodge pickup will not work. The compresser works. When I pull a vaccume it holds the pressure but when I put coolant into the system. It dosenot hold the pressure

Hi there,

if the system is holding a vacuum there should be no leaks, you may have a problem with the compressor and leaking internally, has the system pressures be check on charging? Or are you just trying a bottle fill?
