Electrical problem
1986 Dodge Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
I was on the highway and all of a sudden my stock stereo shot out a lot of smoke and was arcing and then all of a sudden the truck died. Smoke filled up the cab. Also the battery was bubbling and the guages stopped working.

Hi there,

You have had a major short in the electrical system, you will have to get your mechanic to inspect as there may be a lot of damage doe to the looms, as they over heat the plastic insulation melts& burns(smell) and all the wires fuse together and can do a lot of damage, you will have to get a qualified person to asses the damage for you.
