1986 Dodge Truck radaitor runs hot

The radaitor runs hot even when idiling. Have replaced thermostat. Water Pump seems to be fine . It ran hot with me one time on the road and cut off. I waited for it to cool down and added water and made it home. The water looks dark brown when it runs for awhile. The engine seems to run fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Think a new rad. maybe in your future. Get truck warm run hand along core is bottom cool and top hot? If so core is pluged up.
