1972 Dodge Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 400 big block that is heating in the #6 cylinders header tube (almost glowing), and also backfireing some. I am running a 4 barrel carb and electronic Iginition. Anyone know what is up?

it may be that that cylinder just fires better or you may have a bad valve that is causing the cylinder to heat up like htat..
