After driving fine, it starts chugging and then dies like it is out of gas but has plenty. Took it to a garage they got it started and said the timing was way off.
They put it on the computer and after getting it started said everything was lined up and all the numbers were good.
It was fine for a couple of days and once again it chugged and died and couldnt get started again. Could this cause be the crank position sensor, and if so, couldnt I just go buy one from Oreillys and change it myself? I heard that it was a single bolt that held it in and a wiring harness.
I also heard that the car has a coding system if I turn the ignition on and off 2 times and back on and wait for 5 beeps then the code would read in the odometer area.
They are supposed to get to the car first thing in the morning, but I wanted to go over there and try the code function and see if it is in fact the sensor that is bad. Do you think they will charge an arm and a leg to replace it at the dealership?
