I parked my stratus in the driveway today and tonight it won't come out of park. It's like the button on the gear shift won't release so you can pull back on the shifter?

You have a problem with the shift interlock control system either the cable broke are the adjustment is off here are instructions in the diagrams below to help you fix the problem. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

2005 Stratus. When I try to start car, the gear shift will not come out of PARK. We have tried to get it towed, but when we try to put it in neutral, it will not come out of PARK. Help.

Then eithere there is a wiring issue to the park lock actuator or the actuator itself is bad. The reason I asked about the brakes is because the brake light swith sends the power to the actuator to release when the brake lights come on.

You will need to have the actuator checked.

Sure can. Check all your fuses first. Might also be the brake light switch, it operates the lock-out solenoid for the shifter, so check your brake lights first. If you care to diagnose this further, get a test light and PM me
