2004 Dodge Stratus oil light coming on

my oil light comes on when engine is under 1000 RPMS and is beginning to cut off on me. it is a 2.7 liter engine.

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge if normal replace the oil pressure switch abnormal could mean oil pump and engine bearings
