2003 Dodge Stratus Radiator change

Good day
I've removed the old Radiator after it was busted, I want to flush the system before installing the new radiator, can I do this or is it a must that I install the new one first?

You can do it that way if you remove the thermostat while your flushing it and don't run the engine.
