My odometer seems to be stuck and I can't switch to trip meter. Could it be a speed sensor gone haywire?

Hi
If speed sensor was faulty would expect trans shift problem and possible MIL light. If no light then and speedo works would think BCM maybe the problem. Have you tried checking for codes?
Let me know
