2001 Dodge Stratus

I asked a question on the 16th of this month and have not received an answer yet. I made a $10.00 donation. I need an answer or my money back.

Hi:
I'm not sure why it was missed. I just came across your posting now. I'm sorry about the wait. What is your question?

My 2001 dodge stratus is not changing millage. Is the millage stored in the dash or the computer? The dodge dealer doesn't know but suggest a new dash, sounds like a blind guess to me what do you think? Thank you for your help.

It could be the cluster, but there are other things that can cause it. Have they checked the vehicle speed sensor? Has the check engine light come on? Is the speedo working properly?

Let me know.

There is no check engine light and the speedometer works. The number, odometer, just seems stuck and you cannot switch from odometer to trip meter. When you push the button in and hold it the frozen odometer just remains.

It sounds like the dealer is correct. Regardless, the mileage is stored in the computer. I thought the counter wasn't working. I didn't realize the problem was between the trip odometer and the regular odometer.
