What is the recommended strut replacement interval?

You can follow the owner's manual. However, two things. First, bounce the vehicle. If it takes more than three bounces before it stops, replace them. Other than that, different conditions cause them to wear at different times. Most people average around 40K before they need them, but that doesn't mean they can't last longer or go bad sooner.
