Replace the oil pump?

I need to replace the oil pump how difficult is this to do in my home garage? It has already been confirmed it is not the sending unit.

It can be done at home but its not gonna be easy-see below

REMOVAL

Disconnect negative cable from battery.
Remove Timing Belt.
Remove Oil Pan.

Remove Crankshaft Sprocket using Special Tool 6793 and insert C-4685-C2 (Fig. 98).
Remove oil pick-up tube.

Remove oil pump, and front crankshaft seal (Fig. 99).
INSTALLATION

Make sure all surfaces are clean and free of oil and dirt.

Apply Mopar Gasket Maker to oil pump as shown in image. Install oil ring into oil pump body discharge passage (Fig. 100).
Prime oil pump before installation.
Align oil pump rotor flats with flats on crankshaft as you install the oil pump to the block. NOTE: Front crankshaft seal MUST be out of pump to align, or damage may result.

Install new front crankshaft seal using Special Tool 6780 (Fig. 101).

Install crankshaft sprocket using Special Tool 6792 (Fig. 102).
Install oil pump pick-up tube.
Install oil pan.
Install Timing Belt.

Greetings,

Hopefully someone can help. I'm in the process of installing a new oil pump on my 2.4l and I'm not understanding "Align oil pump rotor flats with flats on crankshaft as you install the oil pump to the block" can someone give me a clear image or video? BTW, the instructions above were helpful. Thank you.

On the oil pump there are two flats to drive the pump from the crankshaft, the pump will not go on any other way. Just make sure the flats line up. It is pretty straight forward. What problem are you having?
