I have smoke coming from my rear wheel and the rim is really hot to the touch. I did the rear drum brakes about 6 months ago. Is it a wheel bearing that is gone? The wheel makes a grinding noise when i drive. Thanks.

Hello,

Ok, when you did the brakes did you also change the Wheel Cylinders? If not could be that it is bad and locked shoes against drum.

Can you tell if the smoke has a brake or an oil smell?

If oil smell the yes most likely bearings.

If unable to determin then best course of action would be to take apart.
