The back of the driver's seat has collapsed, is their a way to repair this problem?

Yes the back of the seat will not stay up.

There is a gear with teeth on it to hold it in position. The easiest and cheapest thing to do is replace the seat. Chances are you can get one from a salvage yard for a good price that matches.

I wish I had a better answer, but it's not worth trying to fix.
