1999 Dodge Stratus won't start, no fuel pressure in log and

Old time mechanic found that the wires from the crank sensor (a bundle of 5) had melted together. He said that the 8 volt wire leading to what ever was not sending a signal. He thought some BOX might be bad. I don't have the kind of money he was talking about to fix this. What do I need to get from the recylce ward what BOX is the one that these wires from the crank sensor are hooked to? Oh ya I found a 20 amp fuse blown that read fuel delevery.

The 8 volt supply for the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor is provided by the Engine Computer. When that wire is shorted, the computer shuts the supply down to protect it. Once the short is gone, you must turn the ignition switch off, wait a few seconds, then when you turn the ignition switch back on, the 8 volt supply will come back.

The computer should not be damaged, but what you're referring to is called the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
