1998 Dodge Stratus Work car takes 20 minutes to warm....

....recently it was -31 degrees, now it takes 20+ minutes to warm to drive. The engine needs to be running for a while to change gears. I mean I could change the gears but I wont move. I shift to drive or reverse and the car just sits there, like it is idling....any clues to what maybe wrong.......runs great after warm

Hi:
Replace the thermostat to have the car warm faster, and check the trans fluid level.

Let me know what you find.
