1995 Dodge Stratus Turn signals

Why did you replace the computer. PCM replacement requires it to be reprogrammed to work with the vehicle.

The kid had the computer replaced because of the transmission slipping.

Let's tackle the issues separately.

1. Turn signals. Verify that both left and right signals don't work. Also verify the operation of the hazard lights. Post what works, and doesn't work.

2. "Temp and tach dont work either. and the check engine and charging system lights are on". Temp and tach not working. Is the speedometer working? Odometer? All of the other lights?

The new computer may be responsible for the CEL and charging system light as it must be reprogrammed to work with your vehicle. Your gauge cluster may also be on the fritz if other gauges or lights not working.

3. No O/D. That is more towards the transmission control module and the solenoid pack, instead of the PCM.

1. Neither the left or right signal work and neither do the hazards.
2.Yes the speedodmeter works. all the other instrument lights work. The odometer and trip work also.

3. the transmission slips out of gear in third is the tranmission gone?

1. All turns and hazard. Check the flasher unit located just to the right of the steering column. You have to remove the lower dash cover (driver side) to gain access to the unit. It looks like this.

2. Temp and tach. As you have removed the bottom part of the dash, you may want to remove the upper part as well to gain access to the gauge cluster. Make sure that all wire harnesses are securely and tightly fastened to the cluster. Also check for any crack/damage on the circuit board. The circuit board to the gauge cluster on this model is notorious of being cracked or damage. 3. Transmission gone. Not necessarily. If you have access to the original PCM, put it back in. If you don't, verify with the previous owner that the PCM has been programmed to work with the vehickle. If not, then you have to send the vehicle to the nearest dealer for re-programming. As the speedo and odometer work, I don't suspect any speed sensors being bad, but I would just check them. Slipping: Do you have enough fluid? Is it the right fluid? Only use Mopar or ATF+4 equivalent. 90% of the time, Chrysler transmission slipping is caused by wrong type of ATF being used.
