Computer problem
1995 Dodge Stratus 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1995 Dodge Stratus, my car has started to bog either at idle, constant speed, or when I am giving it more gas. The tach will be at like 1500 and when it bogs out the tach will drop down to nothing or car will die and start back up right away. The problem I am having is that it is very inconsistant. I can drive for miles or for blocks, or I can't even get down the road. I did the code test and the first time I had code 11 and 12. I disconnected the battery and cleaned of all the terminals. Now I only have code 12, which I was told meant battery disconnect. A guy I work with told me I am going to need a new computer for the car. I was hoping that you guys could maybe think of something else I could try. My only car so I could really use the help.
Thank you in advance.
