i've had this issue ever since i purchaced the car a year ago. when i go to start my car in the morning or after work (when the car is cold) the engine lopes and i have to keep my foot on the throttle to keep it from dying. also while the engine idlles cold the valves are unbeleiveably noisy.
thanks for your consideration.

Check the idle air control valve/motor and for the noisy thingy could be a lifter leakdown problem.
