Engine Performance problem
1993 Dodge Stealth 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Manual

my turbo by the firewall started makeing a loud swirling noise when I pressed the gas pedal, by the time I got home, the boost gauge hardley works now, and my oil was almost empty, and smoke was coming out from the hood by the turbo, and out the exuast pipe. I put oil in the motor to refil it, and it smokes even worse now, almost like a train. When I pulled the dipstick out, smoke barrled out it as well. The wirlling sound stopped, but now I have no boost and my car smokes really bad. Before all of this, my car did not smoke at all.
can you tell me what is going on, and what I need to do to fix the turbo, and smokeing problem.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation.

This sounds like a major failure of the turbocharger. Turbochargers are very finely balanced turbine driven by the expanding exhaust gasses, and forcing extra air into the combustion chambers. The whining will be a failure of the bearings and or the turbine running out of balance. There are oil seals on this shaft that will now have failed and allowing oil into the exhaust. This is not something that you will be able to fix by just replacing a seal. The turbo will have to be removed and O/Hauled by a specialist shop.
