I have a 1993 Dodge Stealth 3.0L SOHC non-turbo. From a cold start, the car will run like a champ now. After it is driven for a while, the car will start to cut out. Lights dim and battery guage jumps around along with the rpms. Sometimes when stopping or have clutch pushed it, the car will die during the time it had been cutting out. If you let it sit and idle after it had been cutting out, the idle is really rough. Not really smooth like when first started. Sometimes, with just putting the key to the power position, the RPM guage will jump around and the MFI relay will start clicking on and off. The rpm/mfi issue only started recently after I had already replaced everything. So I figure it is something with the ECM. Here is a list of what ive replaced:

Alternator
Battery x3
Spark Plugs
Spark Plug Wires
Distributor Cap
Ignition Module x2
Fuel Injectors
Fuel Filter
Fuel Pump x2
Air Intake
Intake Plenum Gasket
Fuel Injector O-Rings x4
ECM
Capacitor's on ECM

I think thats everything. I have taken the car to 4 different mechanics. There are no engine codes that show up, the thermostat is fine. 3 Mechanics told me different parts that it 'was' and replaced the parts and 1 mechanic told me he could not find anything wrong with my car. While it is cutting out and the rpms are jumping around, it sounds like there are firecrackers going off in my exhaust. Definately is not driveable unless youre only driving for 15-20 minutes. Also, the car will not start unless the CEL goes off on the dash which sometimes takes 2-3 minutes to go off. I'm pretty certain the problems are related because i've had them both the same amount of time. My only question now is: Where do I go from here besides rolling my car off of a cliff.

Hey I own a 1991 dodge stealth rt. Ive been where you are twice. Its the ecu. You can have it rebuilt or buy a new one. From my experience with this car I would buy two for a few years down he road.
