1993 Dodge Stealth Fuel filter & pump

1993 Dodge Stealth 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 120K miles

How do I replace the fuel filter and pump, and may I use an inline filter instead of the in the original in the tank style? Thanks alot!

The fuel filter should be under the hood on the firewall.
