when i accelerate my car backfires and i go to change my air filter its burned up and meltin. sometimes when i barely accelerate it do fine sometimes it dont

Has the check engine light come on? I assume it is backfiring through the intake, correct?

no tha check engine light havent came on and i guess my air filter have burn spots and melts a lil

What I would suggest is to have the compression tested. It sounds like you have a burnt, stuck, or bent intake valve.
