Phone book and check book.

You need to know more than which tools to use. You need to know what to do with them. You must understand what damage you could cause by over-tightening the new belt. You didn't say what the problem is, so we don't know if this is just a preventive maintenance thing or if you're trying to solve a specific problem. If the old belt jumped off the pulleys, you need to check the pulley alignment, not just throw a new belt at it. If the belt squeals, it's also a pulley alignment issue. There is a factory-approved very simple modification to address that issue. A new belt will also squeal until that modification is done.

It's very rare for these belts to break. If yours is shredded on one side, the new belt will do the same thing unless the cause is corrected.
